Here are some of my favorite movies.
My go to dumb comedy movie that I never get tired of no many how many times I re-watch it. Two guys in their 30's who never moved out on of their parents houses become step brothers when their respective single mom and single dad get married. First the new step-brothers hate each other, then become friends, then struggle to keep their new parents together as their marriage falls apart.
The only movie I watched all over again right after the first time I watched it. This movie is epic and dark while still being light-hearted. It has great action sequences. The story of a teenager who asks himself why no ones has ever decided to become a superhero? He decides to despite not having any powers.
A horror movie with a basic Texas Chainsaw Massacre premise, but a great mood, and great visuals. An entertaining watch. Amazingly cooky (almost 80's horror esque in a good way) special affects aswell.
A manly film about two soldiers of the french army during the Napoleonic Wars who fight a series of duels across their lives. Excellent sword-fighting scenes. An interesting setting, and an amazing watch despite the somewhat simplistic core plot. Based on a true story.
An absolute classic of 80's horror complete with unmatchable special affects. The antarctic setting and isolation it evokes are great. The nature of the monster is also interesting and makes for a good film. A team of polar researchers are killed and imitated one by one, after bringing back samples that originated from a long frozen UFO.
Though this is a movie about a superhero it's super gritty. Think The Dark Knight movies. Watch as the titular Dredd fights floor, by floor to escape a gang who have taken control of a "Mega-Block" apartment building in this post-apocalyptic setting.
